Hey friends, and welcome back to another biweekly update.Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and while the team will be taking a well-deserved break next week to celebrate with loved ones, we’ve been hard at work this month to bring you some exciting updates.This update is particularly special — it consists of several improvements based on feedback given to us by actual users and clients. Some high-level goals include: enhancing customizability via user handle, profile picture, and privacy options, and improving asset security by reducing the chances of sending assets to impersonators with similar addresses or usernames.Your input helps us make KryptoGO App safer, friendlier, and more intuitive — whether you’re new to web3 or a seasoned pro. Let’s dive into the details!<h2>Setting a unique user handle</h2>Remember the long string of random letters and numbers used to identify yourself and other users? It’s okay, neither do we. We’re introducing user handles, making identification and connections simpler and safer.Users will soon be prompted to create a handle consisting of lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores. Unlike display names, handles are immutable once set and will replace user IDs throughout the app. This ensures you’re always connecting or doing a transaction with the right person — not an impersonator with a similar wallet address.<img src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:700/1*9aFHitYzrL2UoNOg0g51gA.png" alt="" width="700" height="700" loading="eager">Popup that prompts user to create a unique handle (@).Handles must be unique, so if you have a specific one in mind, act fast to claim it before someone else does!<h2>Sharing a transaction</h2>We understand that many users frequently need to share transaction details for purposes like checking account records or reconciling payments. Previously, this often meant taking screenshots and sending them through messaging apps like Line, Telegram, or Facebook Messenger — a process that could be time-consuming and prone to mistakes.We’ve simplified this process. Now, you can share a transaction directly within the app. Simply select any transaction from your history, tap “Share,” and choose your preferred platform. This ensures that you can quickly and accurately provide payment confirmations or reconcile accounts without the hassle of manual screenshots.<img src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:1000/1*y0O7Dq4xuw0PQ35t_Ov6Dg.png" alt="" width="1000" height="667" loading="eager">Selecting a transaction and sharing it. We’ve shared this transaction to the Line App here, for example.<h2>Enhanced address and send confirmations</h2>Last year, we revamped the Send feature to make transactions faster and simpler. While feedback was overwhelmingly positive, some users noted it was perhaps too frictionless. Since the process was highly intuitive, there are times where users would, without thinking, keep pressing “Continue” without verifying the transaction details, leading to occasional errors or oversights.To address this, we’ve added two confirmation steps:<ol><li>Address Confirmation: If you manually enter an address instead of selecting a contact, you’ll be prompted to double-check the address. This helps prevent scams using similar-looking wallet addresses. Some scammers deliberately use wallet addresses with the exact beginning and ending digits since many wallets hide the middle digits (e.g., 0xabcd….1234). Though KryptoGO App already shows users full wallet addresses, this step serves as an additional reminder to always be diligent!</li><li>Send Confirmation: Before sending, a popup will appear displaying the source and destination addresses, the amount to be sent, and the estimated network fee. This final review step ensures you’re confident in every transaction.</li></ol><img src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:1000/1*yRW1ZwjW0ns9ggJ4aD4PdQ.png" alt="" width="1000" height="667" loading="eager">Address confirmation (left) and Send confirmation (right). Stay safe in web3, folks.These measures provide an extra layer of security and a little bit more time to think in order to prevent mistakes.<h2>Customizing your profile picture</h2>Previously, we restricted profile pictures to NFTs held in your wallet, allowing users to showcase their prized collectibles. Whether it be a grinning Azuki or adorable Pudgy Penguin, KryptoGO App would verify on-chain that the user does indeed own that particular asset.While this was great for some, it limited customizability for others.We’re now pivoting away from NFT-gated profile pictures. You can upload any image from your phone album to use as your profile picture. If NFT verification becomes necessary in the future, we’ll design a dedicated flow for those specific use cases.<img src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:700/1*f4zp0gpIF9hGSSRDFOQBbQ.png" alt="" width="700" height="700" loading="lazy">Set your profile pic to whatever meets your fancy. In this case, it’s a buff doggo, the mascot of KryptoGO.<h2>Profile privacy options</h2>While blockchain data is publicly visible, we understand that you may not want your wallet balance prominently displayed on your profile for all your contacts to see. After all, it’s one thing for data to be public, but another to flaunt in-your-face the multimillions you made flipping Solana memecoins.To address this, we’re introducing an option to hide your total balance and assets from your profile page. It’s a simple way to maintain privacy while staying connected.<img src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:700/1*zIGfg1UsU7msfLqUjWatDA.png" alt="" width="700" height="700" loading="lazy">Profiles in “privacy mode” hide their wallet balance and assets from other users.<h2>Customizable module order for white-label wallets</h2>White-label wallets can now rearrange or hide modules on the home page to better suit their audience. Here are some examples:<ul><li>Want wallets and balances displayed prominently? Move the “My Wallets” module to the top.</li><li>Want to focus on tokens and DeFi products and hide NFTs? Simply remove the “Collections” module.</li><li>Don’t need investment features like AAVE staking?
